whole new way, in a whole brand-new sense, and as I was approaching this text today to bring you a word, I was so overcome with God and what he wanted to speak through this word. 05:54.356 --> 06:07.808 [SPEAKER_00]: And before we actually get to the text itself, I'd love to just unpack a bit of the context of where we enter into our text because it's quite a large chunk 06:07.788 --> 06:31.062 [SPEAKER_00]: And I must say, I've heard messages preach from many parts of this text, but I think when we understand the full context, I know sometimes we can read something and we can get a little jam and a bit of goal that helps us in our faith, but I think sometimes when we understand the full context, it gives us a larger picture of what God is doing and what Jesus is trying to this in the context of probably Jewish believers who have a certain understanding and expectation of the time that they are in. 07:08.056 --> 07:10.999 [SPEAKER_00]: Passover reminds the people of God of the Exodus. 07:11.079 --> 07:16.446 [SPEAKER_00]: Passover reminds the people of Manor in the wilderness that reminds them of the Lamb. 07:16.486 --> 07:17.727 [SPEAKER_00]: It reminds them of blood. 07:17.787 --> 07:20.370 [SPEAKER_00]: It reminds them of deliverance. 07:21.380 --> 07:26.808 [SPEAKER_00]: So, Passover, that little, at you'll see at the start of the chapter as this was at the time of Passover. 07:26.828 --> 07:32.336 [SPEAKER_00]: That is not a insignificant detail, because John is trying to frame what people would have been thinking in this moment. 07:33.217 --> 07:44.653 [SPEAKER_00]: He says, this is at the time of Passover, and is at this moment that John gives an account of a story which is our first miracle we see in this passage, which is the feeding of the 5,000. 07:45.578 --> 08:03.027 [SPEAKER_00]: Now, I've heard a lot of messages on the 5000, but this Passover and this feeding of the 5000 is not a insignificant link, it's bread, it's like, it's almost like Jesus is feeding these people just like Moses fed God's people in the wilderness. 08:03.828 --> 08:07.013 [SPEAKER_00]: So John is drawing a parallel here who's trying to make people think. 08:08.410 --> 08:16.395 [SPEAKER_00]: and people are beginning to see and think after this first miracle that this Jesus person, he's like Movers Moses. 08:17.118 --> 08:29.417 [SPEAKER_00]: He's like him, and the response that they want to do is make him king in, I don't have this on the slides, but just quickly in John 6, 1, 15, they said, perceiving then that they were about to come Moses, and when he perceive that, he withdrew to the mountain by himself. 08:48.190 --> 08:52.276 [SPEAKER_00]: Then, we enter into our second miracle, which is Jesus walking on the water. 08:53.518 chasing him, but what are they chasing him for? 10:01.489 --> 10:09.306 [SPEAKER_00]: Jesus answered them, truly, truly I say to you, you are seeking me not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of lobes. 10:10.518 --> 10:19.108 [SPEAKER_00]: Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that enjoys their internal life, which the Son of Man will give to you for on Him God [SPEAKER_00]: They want more meals, they want another food, they want Jesus to perform another miracle. 10:28.899 --> 10:32.983 [SPEAKER_00]: He says, it's not, they respond, what's the work of God [SPEAKER_00]: Jesus rebukes them again, now he would seemingly be to the Jewish people he is like distancing Moses. 11:34.109 --> 11:37.015 [SPEAKER_00]: He said, it wasn't Moses that fed you. 11:38.838 --> 11:43.688 [SPEAKER_00]: Just remember that it was my father in heaven who fed you. 11:45.997 --> 11:51.304 [SPEAKER_00]: And also, you got to understand that the bread that Moses gave [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying we don't, like thank the people we stand on the shoulders of people who've gone before us, but it's so easy for us to just want the bread that was given years ago and we live on it and live on it. 12:48.369 --> 12:54.457 [SPEAKER_00]: But you know something about the bread in the wilderness, they had to eat it that day and if they didn't eat it that day, it would [SPEAKER_00]: It was revival in the 70s. 13:11.052 --> 13:15.157 [SPEAKER_00]: I was just at SE conference, which they've just had an outpouring of the spirit. 13:15.177 --> 13:16.719 [SPEAKER_00]: They're not even calling it revival. 13:17.060 --> 13:21.485 [SPEAKER_00]: But what I've realized about revival is that revival brings a certain fruit. 13:23.007 --> 13:24.509 [SPEAKER_00]: Revival brings something special. 13:24.629 --> 13:32.059 [SPEAKER_00]: And the thing about revival, which I understand, and I'm beginning to learn more about, revival does not make you want to go back to
