persecution coming on upon believers. 05:30.657 --> 05:40.230 [SPEAKER_00]: King James says, rejoice and be exceedingly glad for great issue of awarding heaven for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. 05:41.231 --> 05:46.478 [SPEAKER_00]: What Jesus saying here isn't man A so persecuted them, right? 05:47.808 --> 05:53.655 [SPEAKER_00]: This is why modern translations, I'll read from the CSB, it says, for that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you. 05:54.136 --> 05:57.139 [SPEAKER_00]: The word so means they persecuted them just like that. 05:57.560 --> that, Matthew 5, 16, this is where Jesus is talking about, how no one puts a lamp, you've got to light, you don't hide it under a bucket, under a bushel, you put it up on the lamps and you put it up reasons why this is one of the reasons why I really admire the translators of the CSB, which is a Christian standard Bible. 07:45.413 --> 07:53.901 [SPEAKER_00]: For having the courage to take this things that I deeply deeply want to do for my daughter is I want to love her well. 10:15.495 --> 10:17.237 [SPEAKER_00]: I want her lover with a gospel love. 10:18.263 --> 10:19.425 [SPEAKER_00]: or a teacher, a spouse, demanding everything of you that you must earn your way into love. 11:44.316 --> 11:49.422 [SPEAKER_00]: The other way, I get to the other opposite stream, a love that coddles. become immature. 12:52.805 --> 12:59.615 [SPEAKER_00]: When things go wrong, she would learn to hate not herself, but everyone else around her, blame them, and be unable to relate to other people in a studying this verse, I came across a fact in one of the commentaries that honestly took me back, took me back and I was like, is this legit? 13:41.748 --> 13:49.238 [SPEAKER_00]: Like I had to like, you know, it's like a check it and then I checked it again and I checked it like a fourth time because I'm like, okay. 13:50.618 --> 14:01.070 [SPEAKER_00]: This verse, it claimed, is the only verse in the entire Bible that says that God loves the world, and I search a surgeon, and that's true. 14:02.992 --> 14:08.418 [SPEAKER_00]: The fact that this verse says that God loves the world at all is surprising for two reasons. 14:08.458 --> 14:10.820 [SPEAKER_00]: I want you to keep in mind the context of this conversation. 14:10.840 --> 14:11.842 [SPEAKER_00]: What's happening in John 3? 14:12.262 --> 14:19.410 [SPEAKER_00]: Jesus is having a conversation at night with a Pharisee, Nicodemus, a Jewish leader, a rabbi, a teacher 14:20.234 --> 14:23.179 [SPEAKER_00]: What Nicodemus knows yes, God loves the world. 15:03.297 --> 15:07.822 [SPEAKER_00]: First, it would be shocking to Nicodemus, the Jewish man, that God's love extends beyond ethnic Israel. 15:07.902 --> 15:11.706 [SPEAKER_00]: Even though it's replete in the Old Testament that God loves the world in that way. 15:12.462 --> 15:18.890 [SPEAKER_00]: And if you remember, in John 3, Nicodemus is continually shocked
