04:55.284 --> 04:57.667 [SPEAKER_01]: He has this dream. 04:57.747 --> 05:00.970 [SPEAKER_01]: It's of his brothers who totally loved him. 05:01.690 --> 05:03.632 [SPEAKER_01]: Didn't mind to be in the favorite at all. 05:04.203 --> 05:06.746 [SPEAKER_01]: He has this dream of them and his parents bowing down. 05:06.766 --> 05:18.239 [SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't really understand what it means or why, perhaps the tone and posture he shares it with to his brothers and family might not have been the wisest idea, but it has kind of strange as to know what it means. 05:19.260 --> 05:28.371 [SPEAKER_01]: That kicks off a series of events where his brothers lie about him, they say that he got killed, and truthfully they saw him off as a slave to Israelites. 05:29.026 --> 05:34.671 [SPEAKER_01]: He winds up in Egypt where he then becomes a house servant of a man named Potafra, a very powerful person. 05:35.612 --> 05:44.581 [SPEAKER_01]: And because Joseph is diligent and he's responsible, he works his way up to being basically the head of the estate, but oh, wait a minute. 05:44.601 --> 05:46.483 [SPEAKER_01]: Things go sideways for Joseph again. 05:46.563 --> 05:47.103 [SPEAKER_01]: What happens? 07:03.613 --> 07:06.737 [SPEAKER_01]: When will my life feel a little normal? 07:07.298 --> 07:08.500 [SPEAKER_01]: Again, right? 07:09.481 --> 07:24.302 [SPEAKER_01]: And so as we, as we go through this, this morning, chapters 40 and 41, the main point we're going to be talking about in view of the life of Joseph and what God did there, is that waiting on the Lord well is an opportunity for him, 07:24.890 --> 07:27.874 [SPEAKER_01]: to mold and mature our character. 07:28.555 --> 07:32.721 [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm gonna go ahead and start by reading the first 19 verses of Genesis chapter 40. 07:33.402 --> 07:36.226 [SPEAKER_01]: Make a few notes and observations and then we'll carry along. 07:38.249 --> 07:38.610 [SPEAKER_01]: Here we go. 07:39.631 --> 07:46.200 [SPEAKER_01]: Some time later, Pharaoh's chief cut bear and chief baker offended their royal master. 07:47.262 --> 07:53.631 [SPEAKER_01]: Pharaoh became angry with these two officials and he put them in prison where Joseph was in the palace of the captain of the guard. 07:54.640 --> 08:01.470 [SPEAKER_01]: They remained in prison for quite some time, and the captain of the guard assigned to them to Joseph, who looked after them. 08:02.872 --> 08:06.998 [SPEAKER_01]: While they were in prison, Pharaoh's cut bear and baker each had a dream one night. 08:07.779 --> 08:08.940 [SPEAKER_01]: In each dream had its own meaning. 08:09.801 --> 08:14.248 [SPEAKER_01]: When Joseph saw then the next morning, he noticed that they both looked upset. 08:15.449 --> 08:17.693 [SPEAKER_01]: Why do you look so worried today, he asked them? 08:18.594 --> 08:23.601 [SPEAKER_01]: And they replied, we both had dreams last night, but no one can tell us what they mean. 08:24.948 --> 08:30.114 [SPEAKER_01]: interpreting dreams is God's business, Joseph replied, go ahead and tell me your dreams. 08:31.255 --> 08:34.358 [SPEAKER_01]: So the chief cut bear told Joseph his dream first. 08:35.059 --> 08:37.902 [SPEAKER_01]: In my dream he said, I saw a great vinear friend of me. 08:38.623 --> 08:43.889 [SPEAKER_01]: The vine of three branches that began to buddham blossom and soon it produced a cluster of ripe grapes. 08:45.090 --> 08:52.238 [SPEAKER_01]: I was holding Pharaoh's wine cup in my hand, so I took a cluster of grapes and squeezed them and squeezed the juice into the cup. 08:53.433 --> 08:55.235 [SPEAKER_01]: Then I placed the cup in Pharaoh's hand. 08:56.738 --> 08:58.540 [SPEAKER_01]: This is what the dream means, Joseph said. 08:59.501 --> 09:01.304 [SPEAKER_01]: Three branches represent three days. 09:01.624 --> 09:07.452 [SPEAKER_01]: Within three days, Pharaoh will lift you up and restore you to your position as the chief cup bear. 09:08.353 --> 09:12.119 [SPEAKER_01]: And please remember, Mickey, and do me a favor when things go well for you. 09:12.980 --> 09:17.226 [SPEAKER_01]: mentioned me to Pharaoh, so that he made me let me out of this place. 09:17.746 --> 09:21.972 [SPEAKER_01]: For I was kidnapped from my homeland, the land of the Hebrews. 09:22.070 --> 09:25.154 [SPEAKER_01]: And now I am here in prison, but I did nothing to deserve it. 09:26.416 --> 09:34.406 [SPEAKER_01]: When the chief baker saw that Joseph had given the first dream such a positive interpretation, he said to Joseph, I had a dream too. 09:35.407 --> 09:39.192 [SPEAKER_01]: In my dream, there were three baskets of white pastries stacked on my head. 09:40.013 --> 09:43.137 [SPEAKER_01]: The top basket contained all kinds of pastries for Pharaoh. 09:44.038 --> 09:47.082 [SPEAKER_01]: But the birds came in eighth from the basket on my head. 09:48.484 --> 09:50.406 [SPEAKER_01]: This is what the dream means, Joseph told him, 09:51.314 --> 09:53.616 [SPEAKER_01]: The three baskets also represent three days. 09:54.637 --> 09:59.903 [SPEAKER_01]: Three days from now, Pharaoh will lift you up and impail your body on a pole. 10:00.864 --> 10:03.486 [SPEAKER_01]: Then the birds will come and peck away at your flesh. 10:04.808 --> 10:05.148 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, boy. 10:05.889 --> 10:19.262 [SPEAKER_01]: So in the league and looking at this, the first thing I want to point out, if we want to wait wisely on the Lord and let him mature us in our character, in our waiting. 10:20.862 --> 10:29.253 [SPEAKER_01]: is we can't, don't let past hurts and bitterness blind you to God moving in the present. 10:30.415 --> 10:31.176 [SPEAKER_01]: Here's why I say that. 10:33.019 --> 10:43.613 [SPEAKER_01]: As I said earlier, it's been around a decade since the events of Joseph Life began to go a little sideways and we don't know how many years precisely when we're in, when we're in 40, we do in 41. 10:44.656 --> 10:50.665 [SPEAKER_01]: We know that it's long enough for some things that have life to have happened, that would have been perplexing, confusing, hard. 10:52.688 --> 10:57.315 [SPEAKER_01]: But it's also been long enough for him to be in charge for a few times to wonder where all this going. 10:57.335 --> 11:04.726 [SPEAKER_01]: And we know for sure, it's been long enough to have things beyond earth, likely within Joseph's heart and his mind. 11:05.807 --> 11:14.460 [SPEAKER_01]: Questions and securities, even temptations have been thrown to him, but praise to God, he's steadfast, right?
