younger and you learned about the armor of God, maybe when you read this, you thought, well, I've got to put on these shoes so I can go and run and tell everybody about Jesus. 08:20.359 --> 08:23.282 would look like, because we've probably all somewhere along the lines and more than likely have attended some sort of Easter or Christmas performance at a church or something, and you saw the soldiers, and you saw how they would be in these sandals that would have the leather straps go around all the way up their legs. 09:07.574 --> 09:09.556 [SPEAKER_01]: And that's what Paul is talking about here. 09:09.597 --> 09:19.449 [SPEAKER_01]: He's talking about those kind of shoes that those kind of sandals that they're literally strapped, they're bind it up all the way up your legs. [SPEAKER_01]: Laced up all the way around their legs. 11:15.605 --> 11:22.391 [SPEAKER_01]: But it's important to also understand because I had to ask myself, well, how can a warrior? 11:22.451 --> soldiers are modern day troops, right, they're wearing boots, they're probably steel toe and all that kind of stuff. 11:42.588 --> 11:51.076 [SPEAKER_01]: And they can withstand and they can tread all different kinds of grounds and surfaces and all these different kinds of things they're probably made to endure. 11:51.096 --> 11:54.620 [SPEAKER_01]: A lot of different challenges, a lot of different surfaces. 11:55.620 --> 12:08.713 [SPEAKER_01]: So I asked myself, well, why would the Roman soldier be laced up in an open-toed situation, right, with the kind of sandal line? 12:08.862 --> 12:10.966 [SPEAKER_01]: But then I began to look into the sandal. 12:11.748 --> 12:21.307 [SPEAKER_01]: And I found that how they would create these sandals, not with just the leather straps that would go all the way up their legs so that they could never come off. 12:21.327 --> 12:23.170 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, no matter what, they could never come off. 12:23.190 --> 12:25.555 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you can yank and pull out them, but they ain't going nowhere. 12:26.935 --> 12:41.991 [SPEAKER_01]: but on the bottom of them, they would take nail-like material, take nails, they would take iron and they would nail them onto the bottom of these shoes and they would look like what you would think today as your modern day kind of your cleats, if you will. 12:41.971 --> 12:47.659 [SPEAKER_01]: football cleats, baseball cleats, maybe if you think about it this way, more so of like track spikes. 12:48.180 --> 12:50.604 [SPEAKER_01]: If you were in track, you ran track of any kind of sorts. 12:50.864 --> 12:55.130 [SPEAKER_01]: You remember those little, those little metal spikes that would stick out. 12:55.571 --> 13:01.840 [SPEAKER_01]: And those were for a reason a purpose it would give you get off and get quick, but you also have that constant traction. 13:08.330 --> 13:13.707 [SPEAKER_01]: And so on the bottom of these Roman soldiers, sandals would be the spikes. 13:14.830 --> with readiness for the gospel of peace, Paul understood this as he's writing this in the prison cell literally observing every day the Roman soldiers. 14:05.774 --> 14:17.048 [SPEAKER_01]: He thinks if he comes to this conclusion, this revelation that a part of the arm or something that's so crucial is the ability to get somewhere quick. 14:18.496 --> 14:22.763 [SPEAKER_01]: And so if I'm going
