Firmware Version 1.0.0.1-10
for Zoom Wireless-N Router Model 4504

How to Apply the Firmware Upgrade

Important Note:  We recommend that you take note of any changes you made to the router using its built-in Configuration Manager. You will need to re-enter your settings after the firmware upgrade is complete.

  1. Unplug any USB modem that is connected to the router. Also unplug any cable that is connected to the router’s WAN port.
  2. Connect a computer directly into one of the router's LAN ports. Do not attempt to carry out the firmware upgrade over a wireless connection or through another router or network device!
  3. Open a web browser and type http://192.168.2.1 (the router’s default LAN IP address) in the address bar. Press Enter.
  4. When the USER’s MAIN MENU page appears, type admin in the System Password field at the top of the page, and then click Login.
  5. Click the Advanced icon at the top of the page.
  6. Click the Toolbox icon.
  7. On the Toolbox page, in the left column, click Firmware Upgrade/Restore.
  8. On the Firmware Upgrade/Restore page, click Browse.
  9. On the Choose File (or File Upload) dialog box, navigate to and select the Zoom4504-v1.0.0.10.bin file, and then click Open.
  10. You will be returned to the Firmware Upgrade/Restore page. Click Upgrade.
  11. The firmware upgrade will take about 90 seconds to load and then the router will restart automatically. Please wait about 2 minutes for this entire process to complete.
  12. You must reset the router to its factory default configuration:
    1. Insert a straightened paperclip (or similar object) into the Reset hole on the front panel of the router.
    2. Hold the paperclip in place for 7 seconds.
    3. Wait about 45 seconds while the router resets and restarts.
  13. Now you may reconfigure the router with your settings, and then reconnect any USB modem and/or WAN connection.
