Konch Magazine - "Three Poems" by June Blassingame

A poem for the weather

It couldn’t be much better

Cast in your vote

And let’s say it together!

whether it’s hot or cold

sunny or breezy

when you’re in the bay

life’s so easy

although its colder here

near the coast

it’s a hands down favorite

picked by most

so a salute to bay weather

may you continue your onslaught of beautifully icy days

so that even in summer we can remember you always

I got the blues or do I?

paralyzed eyes define whats going through the forest

with a step of breathe I clench my gut I cant help but ignore it

with my own hand I take my other in holding

and that feels different

and when the sound of my voice drifts and restlessly fills my ears

that feels different

and when I sit and reflect upon my image as an independent

that too feels different

different from what your eyes show you

and I know the world

it revolves, I thought it would without me

and I can be scared but its tough love

I know you can feel it in the air, the way the earth moves

Its all different then most people think,

But I believe deep down in the part of there soul that collects dust,

Is Remission

Until that day, when the layer of dust is no longer

Then no longer will I have the blues

My  hero is tall

My hero is green

My hero is strong

No, my hero’s not me

Though like me they’re funny

Brave and appealing

Graciously stunning

And courage unyielding

My hero is famous for smashing walls

With muscled hands powered by gamma rays

Yet has a lawyers degree  and works in town hall

My heroes straight from a comic ,oh yea shes a “hero”

And yes did I mention my hero’s a shero
