My objective is to enter the I.T. field with the knowledge I have gained and previous experience and start a new career. In my degree we learned AWS and the Cloud, MySQL, Python, VMware, Project Management. At home I continue to practice these skills with setting up and doing projects on VMs, practicing code and using ESP32, Cisco home lab for networking. I continue my education by working on certifications and just received my A+ and currently working on my Server+.

Experience

2016 – current

Laundry supervisor, sheraton hotel downtown dallas

Oversee the daily operations of the laundry department for the hotel and currently processing for two other hotels. I increased production from 6000 pounds a day to 12000.

Help create the first carpet cleaning team and was responsible for all the carpet in the hotel and maintain equipment and training of all members on the carpet cleaning team.

Supervised housekeepers and inspected rooms to make sure that it was at hotel standards and used opportunities to train housekeepers on improvements.

Organized and executed projects for the hotel that required planning, problem solving, time management, and a variety of skills.

2011 – 2013

department manager / undercover asset protection, walmart

Served as undercover Loss Prevention Officer responsible for the apprehension of shoplifters, gathering evidence, and coordinating with local Police Department.

Managed in-store bakery, ensured consistent adherence to strict health code requirements.

Led front-end operations, including Cashiers and Customer Service personnel.

Responded to medical and fire alarms, maintained composure in high-stress, complex situations.

Supported daily operations of Fire House, including equipment maintenance and training.

Became expert on fire-fighting techniques and medial techniques, safety requirements, and proper procedures.

ASSOCIATE / petcare manager / PRESENTATION manager, petsmart

Oversaw all operations to care for store animals, including managing department budget and inventory levels, ensuring health of all animals, and leading team of 8 – 20 members.

Consistently over-achieved sales plan by increasing animal selection and actively working with the animals to improve their socialization with humans.

Maintained appearance of store environment, including setting up floor displays and endcaps, verifying store in presentable for customers, and managing product deliveries.
