This
is a picture of a stock Traxxas 4 TEC as advertised. It comes
with a stock 20-turn can motor and a mechanical speed control.
The mechanical speed controller is a decent mechanical but still
mechanical. It was the first thing I changed.
This
is what mine looks like after my paint job and a few races. I
chose a pearl purple for the striping and black for the rest. The
rims shows here are Yokamo rims that I barrowed because the stock
rims were crap as well as the tires even though they looked good.
The motors I replaced the stock 20 turn with are a Midnight 2 and
a Speed Gem 2 from Trinity. I also use Trinity Zero Gravity spurs
(VERY NICE). The speed controller I put in is a Tekin G-12c III,
a very heafty speed controller. I have Deans plugs all around as
well as Deans Ultra Wire. I also fabricated a Sway Bar to try to
deal with the excessive push that the car has. Traxas made the
car to use a sway bar but I still have not seen one for sale. I
got mine to work in the back but the front is where it is really
needed. The last modification I made was to get some HPI 3-spoke
satin chrome rims and M-2 compound tires, so far they are
preforming and holding up very well. To power this beast, I have
some very good 6 cell 2000 mA battery packs from Competition RC
called Nuclear Power and a Tekin BC-112C charger to keep them
healthy

This
is a link to The Traxxas Homepage. They make
the 4-TEC and a Nitro 4-TEC. Both are very fast, 4-wheel drive
on-road racers. Traxxas seems to be a bit slow getting hop up
parts out but there is a lot of good tech built into the cars

This
is a little program I thru together to count laps on the
racetrack with a laptop.
It is not much and I make no warenties
and charge nothing for it, use it at your own risk!
Also, please run it under Win95 or
better
