 Windows NIST Time Sync Utility
 by Aeromir Corporation
 Version 1.3 - September 2026
========================================

This utility configures your Windows computer to sync
with NIST atomic clocks every hour for precise timekeeping.

QUICK START:
1. Double-click sync_time_nist.bat
2. Click "Yes" when Windows asks for permission
3. Press any key to close the window when it finishes

If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC," click
"More info," then "Run anyway." Windows shows this for
most downloaded scripts.

WHAT IT CHANGES:
- Sets your time source to time.nist.gov
- Syncs your clock every hour, instead of the Windows
default of every several hours or longer
- Makes sure the Windows Time service starts automatically
Nothing is installed. It only changes Windows' built-in
time settings.

CHECK YOUR CLOCK:
Visit https://time.gov to see the official U.S. time
and how far off your computer clock is.

NOTES:
- For personal PCs. Computers managed by an employer
usually get their time from the company network, which
  overrides these settings.
- If the script warns that the sync failed, your network
or firewall may be blocking time sync (UDP port 123).

TO UNDO:
Open Command Prompt as administrator and run:
  w32tm /config /manualpeerlist:"time.windows.com,0x9" /syncfromflags:manual /update
  net stop w32time
  net start w32time
This switches back to Microsoft's time server.
