I have a completed V that I use at the current time. I really love these boats. Apr 14, 18' Cruisers Inc. There are 2 transom height classes: - 15", 22" made for short and long shaft outboards. The 15" has been superseded by the 22" for rough waters since the 15" was too low and the boat's wake would swamp it when coming off plane. Though the original designs for that period were mostly for short shaft 15" motors unless one is fixed on originality the longer shaft is safer and is the modern layout.
I would want the boat with the higher transom.
